Keith Heard, joined the firm as a Partner in March 2010. In his successful professional career, he has served as a senior staff member for U.S. Senator Thad Cochran , headed the DC office for a major trade association, directed national coalition/grass roots efforts, and has been a top Southern strategist for Presidential campaigns.
Keith was a member of Senator Cochran’s political staff when Cochran was first elected to the Senate, and became one of the Senator’s first staffers in Washington with responsibilities for both political and legislative activities. In that role, Heard began specializing in appropriations matters. He served as Finance and Political Director for Senator Cochran’s first, successful re-election effort.
He left the Hill to serve as an executive for the National Cotton Council where he specialized in agriculture policy, appropriations, and trade policy. He then served as Executive Vice President of the National Corn Growers Association, overseeing policy development, political strategy, and directing grassroots/coalition activities.
Since 1996, Mr. Heard has represented a variety clients on a broad range of issues, including those involving appropriations, agriculture, the environment, financial services, communications, transportation, defense, and homeland security.
He and his wife, Chrissy, have four children.
