Carl Gist
Carl Gist, Jr. joined the TCH Group as Vice President of Congressional Relations in August 2008. Before joining the firm, he was on the legislative staff of John Barrow (D-Ga), who serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee with subcommittee assignments including Energy and Air Quality and Environment and Hazardous Materials. Mr. Barrow also serves on the Agriculture Committee and is a member of the Blue Dog Coalition. Carl handled a large portfolio of issues for the Congressman.
Prior to his service on the Hill, Carl was a Special Assistant to the National Political Director of the Democratic National Committee.
He is a 1999 graduate of North Carolina A&T and has a degree in electrical engineering. Prior to his career in politics, he served as an engineer for Carolina Power and Light (now, Progress Energy) and was a project manager for IBM.
While on the Hill, he was an active member of the Congressional Black Association (an organization for African American Hill staffers). He is a freelance writer, and enjoys fishing, football, tennis and golf.
